Common Checkout Errors

Payment error? Here are the most common errors we see and how to fix them.

  • Declined: AVS
    • Solution: Update the Billing Address to match the one on file with your Card Issuer or Bank (this is typically the same address where you receive statements). We can still ship to a different address if entered separately, which is why there is a “billing address” and separate “shipping address” option
    • About: We use industry leading fraud detection to protect your card and user data. Sometimes it can be a bit finicky. AVS stands for Address Verification System, and it’s the most common reason for a decline. It means that your bank returned a different billing address than the one you entered. 
  • Invalid Token
    • Solution: Update your Billing Address
    • About: You clicked the submit button more than once, and our system thought the second click was a duplicate. This error typically happens after an AVS mismatch, where no order information changed and it was submitted again. To prevent duplicate charges our system blocked the second attempt (even if the first didn't go through).
  • Not Supported / Invalid
    • Solution: Use a Visa or Mastercard
    • About: We accept Visa and Mastercard but don't have processing agreements with other card providers like American Express or international card providers.
